Principle
LCM spatial omics selects target tissue regions or cells by laser-capture microdissection before RNA sequencing or other suitable measurements. It enables comparisons between microregions, lesions and adjacent tissue, or selected populations in complex tissues.
Applications
- Compare expression in tumors, normal tissue and microenvironments
- Study molecular changes in selected brain regions or neural populations
- Assess treatment responses in defined tissue regions
Method features
- Links tissue spatial localization with omics research
- Supports staining or antibody labeling appropriate to the study
- Tissue handling, capture area and RNA quality are assessed together
Workflow
- 01
Prepare tissue and label target regions
- 02
Capture regions and record their spatial origin
- 03
Prepare and measure suitable nucleic-acid or omics samples
- 04
Analyze differences and functions alongside regional origin
This is a workflow overview. Experimental and analytical details depend on sample conditions and research objectives.
